Hi there..my name is Frans (but Francis is probably easier for you to pronounce, so..). I'm originally from the Southern part of The Netherlands, where we all are very laid-back foodies 😉.

I lived in Bangkok for 7 years..had to leave during the corona period. Nowadays I come back every year for at least three months! 😍

CURRENT MISSION
Trying to get my life back in Bangkok. I enjoy all things that this metropolis has to offer, but what I really love are the more LOCAL things. For instance the non-touristy Thai bars, that have a completely different vibe from bars back home,. I am a foodie, so you can always get me to meet up somewhere for food and drinks.

I'm very easy-going. Love to travel, meet new people, talk, go for drinks, clubbing, eat out,..whatever. I try to take things as they come: a wasted day is the one without laughs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Over the years I have organized and hosted more than 200 events..mostly meeting up for food and drinks, trips to local markets, some nightlife/clubbing, some boardgaming events. These last 2 years I have been organizing the weekly Friday CSers meetup in Bangkok.

MY COUCH
I can't offer you a couch..but I do love to show people around the city...day- AND nighttime!

Interests

Love to go out for drinks and eat, shop, clubs, sports and games, the movies, talk for hours...Everything can be enjoyable, if the company is good.
I'm not someone who can sit around and do nothing for a longer period of time lol.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I won't list the "amazing" things that I've done and seen. I now realize that the best and most important experiences are the seemingly simple, every-day moments with friends and family.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well..what do I (think I) have to offer...? I can teach you to shoot pool, have stupid discussions about philosophy, make cocktails and cook up most things that you can think off. But mostly: I can show you the Thai side of Bangkok.places that most tourists/visitors never see.

Trying to be the best guest that I can be...you can't put a price on the hospitality that strangers offer you! And I'll do my best to show you how much it is appreciated.
