Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Accidentally meeting an Algerian-French musician who was travelling through Europe and looking for a place to stay - for him, his bike and his strange instrument - I spontaneously offered him our place and showed him some cafés and bars where to play his charming music. So, instead of stumbling over surf/hosting opportunities, I thought, "why not promote get in touch with diverse people in a more structured way?"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
being lost in a forest on a brazilian island (eventually finding a way back to beach);
teaching how to ride a bike to children;
meeting a stranger when I was with my son in a train in France, asking her if she wanted to join us playing a board game (on the table between us), and ending up sleeping in her garage with fully equipped bed (just without electricity or a toilet; but tons of toys), she had invited us to - another purely casual "couchsurfing" (she had to leave though).
This world can be so wonderful - if we want it to be like that!
