I'm currently trying to enjoy my life as a student of English and American Studies. I love taking long walks and taking my camera and sketchbook with me wherever i go! I like reading three books at a time and forgetting to return them to the library on time, and i like watching my house plants thrive and grow. I like thrifting shirts with odd patterns and wearing them demonstratively on my way to the supermarket.

People obviously make places, not old buildings, as beautiful as they might be (the buildings, not the people!)
So if i travel and don't get to know any people and cultures and ways of life, i could ave just as well left it at google maps street view. It really is very important to me to get to know locals, whether you're traveling with friends or on your own! So i think CS presents a good opportunity to do so. Sleeping under the same roof for a couple of days is a wonderful idea (and even better for a broke student like myself!) and is not comparable to the isolating experience of a hotel room on my own. Through CS i got to know wonderful people, had enlightening conversations and got to see places and aspects that i wouldn't have known of otherwise! Sadly, i am not in the position to host people myself because of my living situation, but i would love to be able to host someday to give back something to the community!
