About Me

To improve myself each day, and to do things that help others.

I live for tea, I'm really liberal, I love good chocolate, I love Chicago, graphic novels, art everywhere, gin drinks, the forest, and getting to know people. I like to spend my time reading, exploring new and old places, writing letters to friends, spending time around trees, cooking and baking.

Think about the person you want to be, and constantly work to be that person.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have surfed a lot, hosted with an ex in England, a bit in Chicago, and have attended loads of events. I am excited to host more!

I have made wonderful friends, and seen places in a way I would have never saw them without my lovely hosts! I am hosting more now, and enjoy exploring Chicago, while getting to know someone new.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Dostoevskey, Bukowski, Capote. I like fairy tales more than most people over five. I like zines and graphic novels a lot. Batman comics are my jam. I love Catwoman (esp. Ed Brubker and Darwyn Cooke's Catwoman).

Films: Matilda and Trainspotting. There are others... I recently saw Winter on Fire: Ukraine's Fight for Freedom. You should really turn off the computer right now and go watch, it was amazing!

Music: Radiohead, Queen, Portishead, AA Bondy, The Kills, Other Lives, The Smiths, loads of things.

Television: "The Blacklist", "Elementary", and "Author"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Celebrating a Palestinian wedding in the middle of the desert.

Eating delicious, giant feasts in the middle of the night, with friends, during Ramadan in Morocco.

Sleeping on the loveliest, most remote beach in Oman. I still have magical shells from that beach!

How do people choose one thing?! These are just travel amazing things.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach someone how to stencil, make jewelry, sew, and/or screenprint.

I like to learn everything! I'm endlessly fascinated by culture. I want to learn everything about flowers. I love making things and cooking, so anything related to creating something new.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Travel experiences, I could try and explain our (the US) mess of a political system...
