About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Explore the American South, find a non-profit job in Chicago, and just love my life

ABOUT ME

I like chocolate a lot, I live for tea, I'm really liberal, I love crafting, being outside, scavenger hunts, Chicago, graphic novels, good beer, and getting to know people. I like to spend my time reading, exploring new and old places, writing letters to friends, and making things (though I don't as much as I mean to). I want to bake more pumpkin bread this Fall.

PHILOSOPHY

Think about the person you want to be, and constantly work to be that person.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed a lot, hosted with an ex in England, a bit in Chicago, and have attended loads of events. I am excited to host more!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have made wonderful friends, and seen places in a way I would have never saw them without my lovely hosts! I am hosting more now, and enjoy exploring Chicago, while getting to know someone new.

Interests

Making things, going to see bands play, Eastern Europe and the Middle East, a free Palestine, traveling...loads of things.

Music, Movies & Books

Books: Dostoevskey, Bukowski, Capote. I like fairy tales more than most people over five. I like zines and graphic novels a lot. Batman comics are my jam. I love Catwoman (esp. Ed Brubker and Darwyn Cooke's Catwoman).

Films: Matilda, Trainspotting, Edward Scissorhands...others.

Music: Radiohead, Queen, Portishead, AA Bondy, Other Lives, The Smiths, loads of things.

Television: "Game of Thrones", "Walking Dead", and I have a guilty pleasure for "The Biggest Loser" (I swear, it's good!). Also, old episodes of "The Simpsons", "My So-Called Life" and "Freaks and Geeks".

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Celebrating a Palestinian wedding in the middle of the desert.

Eating delicious, giant feasts in the middle of the night, with friends, during Ramadan in Morocco.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach someone how to stencil, make jewelry, sew, and/or screenprint.

I like to learn everything! I'm also super excited to learn new crafts.
