Overview
About Me
Hi! I’m Galal — part-time banker, full-time dreamer.
When I’m not working with numbers, you’ll probably find me chasing sunsets, strumming my guitar (badly but passionately), or losing at chess with a smile 😅
I love deep conversations, spontaneous road trips, and finding local food spots that look suspicious but taste heavenly.
Fluent in Arabic, good in English, and beginner in Italian… so if you’re patient, we can communicate in 3 languages — all at once! 😂
I don’t snore (unless I’m dreaming of pizza), and I always bring good vibes and strong coffee wherever I go ☕🎸
Let’s share stories, learn from each other, and maybe sing badly together too!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I believe the world is way more interesting when you experience it through people — not just places.
Hotels are fine… but they don’t cook you their grandma’s recipe or teach you how to say “cheers” in 5 languages 😄
I’m here to meet real humans, exchange culture, share stories, and build memories that no tour guide could ever plan.
Whether I’m a guest or a host — I care about connection, not just accommodation.
And let’s be honest: the best travel stories always start with “So I met this person on Couchsurfing…”
Interests
– Music: Listening, playing, pretending I’m in a music video while walking 😅
– Languages: Currently juggling Arabic, English, and a bit of Italian (Mi dispiace in advance 🇮🇹)
– Books: Especially ones that make me question reality or re-read the same paragraph 3 times
– Traveling: Not just for the sights, but for the weird snacks and unexpected conversations
– Cooking: Mostly Egyptian food… occasionally edible
– Culture Swaps: I love learning how other people live, think, eat, and celebrate
– Chess: I lose gracefully… most of the time
– Sunsets by the sea: Bonus points if there’s music involved

Music, Movies, and Books
🎵 Music
I’m a proud fan of Amr Diab — especially the songs that make you feel like you’ve been heartbroken in 7 different lifetimes (even if you’re totally single 😅).
Also into deep movie soundtracks, Arabic classics, and lately trying to play anything that sounds decent on my guitar. Results pending.
⸻
📚 Books
I love books that either mess with my mind or make me see the world differently.
Faves include “A Beautiful Mind”, psychology stuff, and anything with unexpected plot twists.
Currently trying to balance financial reports at work and spiritual reflections at night — wish me luck 🤓📖
⸻
🎬 Movies
Big fan of Tom Hanks and emotional rollercoasters like A Beautiful Mind.
Also love smart Arabic movies like “الأصليين” and “آسف على الإزعاج”.
Bonus points for any film that makes me think… or cry… or both. (Yes, I cried during Up. Don’t judge.)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I won a scholarship to represent my country internationally — while working full-time in Egypt’s biggest bank, learning guitar (badly), and trying to lose weight without losing my mind 🍕💼🎸
I once taught myself how to play guitar just to surprise a friend at his wedding. It sounded awful… but he cried anyway. Either I touched his heart, or his ears really hurt. Still not sure. 😅
Another time, I traveled to a city I’d never been to with zero plans. No bookings, no itinerary — just vibes. I made three new friends, found a secret beach, and somehow ended up at a local wedding. Yes, I danced. No, I won’t send the video.
Oh — and I gave a live webinar about cash flow to 500+ people. I was sweating more than the Excel sheet… but it worked! Turns out, public speaking isn’t that bad. Still safer than Cairo traffic.
And the best part? I’m just getting started.
Teach, Learn, Share
I believe everyone you meet knows something you don’t — and that’s the beauty of it.
I can teach you the basics of Arabic, how to survive Egyptian bureaucracy, and maybe a few guitar chords (no refunds if your ears hurt).
I’m always up for learning: languages, local traditions, recipes, or simply how others see the world.
Whether it’s a deep talk at 2 a.m. or a silly joke over breakfast — I’m here for it.
Sharing? That’s the easy part. I’ll bring stories, music, Egyptian coffee, and a curious mind.
You bring yourself — that’s more than enough.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I may not carry much in my backpack, but I carry plenty in spirit:
– Stories from Egypt (the kind you don’t find in guidebooks)
– Arabic phrases you can impress your friends with
– Good vibes, curiosity, and deep conversations
– A few songs on guitar (some decent, some… experimental 😅)
– Coffee, snacks, or help in the kitchen — your call!
– And of course: respect, gratitude, and a clean towel if needed 🧼✌️
I believe in giving more than I take — even if it’s just a laugh after a long day.
