我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

At first, only met for drinks.
The first proper "stranger" couch I surfed was in Valparaiso, Chile: a great experience!
It's a rollercoaster: I've been doing it ever since every time I'm traveling, and it's always a blast!

I had the glorious opportunity to surf couches in: Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Perú, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Portugal (both on the mainland and the island of Madeira), South Africa, Malawi and Cyprus.

Now that I'm in Pardes Hanna, I'm willing to show people around as much as possible, and sometimes even host.

Sounds plain, as I like to think that I'm a versatile person.
However, the list must consist of:
Traveling - within I include trekking, hiking, survival skills and also learning about new cultures and mythologies.
Music - whether DJing, attending shows/festivals or just enjoying a good white noise while studying... anything from electronic to classic, thru afro-beat, trap, trance, jazz and latin.
Cinema - once I was considered quite a film-buff, nowadays I just enjoy a good movie once in a while
Books - everything from Homer to Safran-Foer, going through Vonnegut, Orwell and Hesse.
Languages - I speak 3 fluently, currently studying a 4th one; but the thing I like the most is learning tongue-twisters, teeth-breakers and pick-up lines or simply idiotic poems one can never know when they become handy...
Arts - practically anything that can enrich my world by a baby bit.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Travelled outside of my country for a consecutive time of 2 years, 2 weeks, 2 days. Best experience EVER! But if I must state some, I'd prolly name:

Antarctica - Says it all... Glaciers, whales and infinite amounts of penguin guano.

Torres del Paine's "O" trek and the FitzRoy full circuit- Ultimate connection between man and wilderness.

Machu Picchu - via the Salcantay route. Although I've explored a lot about Disney Picchu and all its "fakeness", nevertheless there seems to be smtg intense about this place.

Camino de Santiago - walked about 300km of it due to time limits, loved every second of it!

Madeira Island - a great spot to trek in. If possible, come at the low season to avoid the masses of old folks swarming the place.

Roadtrippin' around Southern Africa - including Kruger Park, Swaziland, Drakensberg, Lesotho and Garden Route all the way up to Cape Town and the area.

Besides that, loads of random events and places I got into whilst strolling around South America, Africa and Europe.

Languages- if anyone's interested in Hebrew or wanna improve his English, Spanish, Arabic, whatever...

Cooking / Bartending - Might be more fitting in the sharing part, but I can also teach you while I'm at it. Some of the best experiences I've had here have to do with yummy food or cocktails...

Learn

Basically anything you have to teach: know as much a you can tell about your city/country.

Also, don't like to see (only) the touristic stuff in every town. The stuff I remember the most is the local non-touristic pub/restaurant, those hidden corners on that esoteric zone, that personal museum that was covered in dust.

If you're interested in one of many esoteric experiences I've been in (Israeli Defense Forces for 4 years, Antarctica, trekkings in SA and survival in the desert), just open up the beer and I'm ready to go.
But sharing is caring, as the saying goes, and I'm a great listener. So I've been told. I think. I never really listen! =P

Enthusiasm about exploring each and every spot (not to a tiring extent, of course); it happened quite a bunch of times that a banal/naive question I've asked opened up a positive Pandora's box, hence sending us to find new adventures in the "known" territory of the host's zone.

Besides, ask anyone you want - I love hosting, and when I'm traveling - naturally, I can't do that; hence, I make myself home pretty quick (con permiso, claro) and I cook/make smtg right away or as a good-bye token.
