About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make a difference

ABOUT ME

I live in a tiny cabin in the mountains of TN in a unique community and I travel the world as much as I can from my base here. I have lived in Eastern Europe and been to 7 continents, working in Humanitarian Aid, traveling with a concert band, or just going whenever and however. I moved to the mountains in rural TN I'm 2008 from Atlanta and enjoy the peaceful life, and able to travel now more than ever. I create abstract wood sculpture when I can. I love meeting new people and sharing experiences. I think a real, deeply felt experience interacting with someone whose background is far different than mine can change the world, and I've hear that a month spent in another country is worth an entire college education.

PHILOSOPHY

We create our own reality through thought and action. What we choose to focus on determines how we experience life.
I think that putting our own thoughts and privilege aside and truly listening to another person's experience is what changes the world and creates a better reality, and I try every day to do that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Offering my place for travellers, and soon looking for places to stay. I have lived in Bulgaria working in Humanitarian Aid and that experience gave me a resolve to feel like I contribute to a culture or place rather than simply visiting or halfway discovering what's on the surface.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted one person in my cabin in Tennessee, and although I was not there with him, it was a pleasant experience and we became friends and remain in touch. I have met another person on Couch Surfing who has remained my friend and we now work together. I love the community aspect and tell everyone about it.

Interests

Wood Sculpture, Architecture, Gardening, Building, yoga and helping another human being on their path.I have been to Spain, Holland, Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, Bulgaria, Malta Germany, England, Ireland, Sweden, Italy, Romania, Greece and Thailand and I have lived in Hawaii. My dream trips include Tibet or Nepal, Peru, China, and Bali

as many as possible. The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle and Science of Mind by Ernest Holmes top the list.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The sunset over Madrid, the sunrise off the coast of Fiji, and the sunset from Mauna Kea in Hawaii are my most memorable travel experiences.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to teach someone how to ferment root vegetables and Kombucha, I love gardening and a have passion for life and people. I want to give more. I love to learn about food and secrets to good living.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My humble cabin in the woods is always available to those who want to stay there.
