ABOUT ME

I'm a 25 year old girl from the capital city of Finland, Helsinki. Couple of years ago in spring I decided that it was time for a change and made the quick decision to move to Edinburgh to study and in the autumn I started uni here. I love to party (guess that's what student life IS mainly about...?), meet new people, hang out with my friends.

In Scotland I've mostly only travelled between Edinburgh and Glasgow, but did go on a day tour to Loch Ness last easter, so have seen a little of the highlands as well, but aspire to see more....

In Finland places I like besides Helsinki include: Tampere, Jyväskylä, Vaasa, Oulu, Lohja, Rovaniemi and Sodankylä during the festival. I love to go to new places in Finland too.. but summer is the best time to meet new people here and it only lasts for a couple of months.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

CouchSurfing has been awesome for me! Backpacking through Europe summer/fall 2008, couchsurfers got us out of tough spots and helped us get on our way. I've also hosted a couple of travellers in Helsinki and all of the experiences were fun!

Music and dance, tea, travelling and cultures, languages, people, culture/arts, knitting, finland in the summer..

.. Film studies! Making movies, watching them, everything!

Snowboarding is one of my winter passions, but for the summers I'd love to learn to longboard and am planning to buy a board this spring. Travelling w/longboard would be the dreammmm!

I'm also very interested in history and philosophy.

Love movies and music. Ska/punk rock/jazz/blues/nu jazz/rap/house/lounge/reggae/skate rock/dubstep.... almost anything goes.

I love to watch ALOT of movies. Mostly 'world cinema', ganster, dark/smart comedies, drama and horror/thriller flicks. Action movies for brainless entertainment.. And different cinema styles; really enjoying finnish.

My favorite directors include: Christopher Nolan, Kubrick, Wes Anderson, Aki Kaurismäki, Lukas Moodysson, Kevin Smith, Godard, Fassbinder, Ingmar Bergman, Antonioni, Claire Denis, Cohen brothers and Risto Jarva.
