I'm a twenty year old student of the humanities who wants to see the world and meet fabulous people! I study Anthropology and Philosophy at university in North Carolina. I've been traveling for a long time, having been blessed with globetrotting parents and a particularly adventurous father.

I'd like to think I'm fairly easy-going and down to earth.

I'm really interested in food justice (making sure that everyone has affordable access to nutritious food and that our food practices are sustainable) -- but then also pretty much anything at all that is food related. I'd like to think that I'm a great cook (but I'm still/always learning).

I appreciate good beer, good wine, and good laughs.
I love cats and dogs.
I make fantastic guacamole.
I appreciate anything outdoors (hiking, biking, swimming, climbing, etc.)
I definitely prefer a dive bar over a fancy nightclub, and deep conversation over a bumpin' DJ.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

So, A) I'm a student and therefore on a very strict budget.
But B) ~most importantly~ I'm always looking to meet new people and understand new perspectives.

I'd love to stay with someone who wants to spend time getting to know each other and showing me the town, but I'm also more than happy to entertain myself.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love going to see live bands and performances. I love most music with the exceptions of country and EDM. I definitely prefer folk, indie, acoustic/singer-songwriter, bluegrass, and rock.

Favorite movies include The Princess Bride, Good Will Hunting, The Awakenings, Benny & Joon, Chocolat, or just about anything with Jennifer Lawrence ...

Books are a big one. I've just gotten back into reading for pleasure (in spite of the huge pile of readings I have for classes)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This might sound less spectacular than it feels for me personally, but this past month I spent ten days traveling by myself. It was the most incredible and self-satisfying experience I've had so far. I traveled Stockholm, Budapest, Vienna, and Prague and learned so much about myself along the way. It scared the hell out of me, which is why I felt like it was something that I needed to conquer. I had an absolute blast and met some fantastic people along the way.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook! I enjoy cooking for others as well as teaching them to cook themselves. I sing (though rarely for others, so you'd have to be particularly convincing). I work on a farm and grew up gardening, so if you needed someone to guide your green thumb, I'm your girl!
