PHILOSOPHY

I am a student of the world and new experiences. I respect people who are down to try new things (such as different food to what one is accustomed to, for example). I believe that people are inherently good, and everyone is brilliant in their own, strange way. My M.O. is that as long as I am doing something I find interesting and compelling while respecting and not hurting others then I am on the right track.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

..Ive up and moved recently so I am unable to host presently. As soon as I get settled I hope to host again. Always up to meet however!

A few things you might like to know should you decide to host or stay with me:

- I am always respectful of my hosts/guest's space and things.
- I am a low-impact traveler. All I have is a small backpack and hip bag.
- sometimes I find washing dishes to be very calming, almost meditative (weird, I know). Hope you don't mind.
- I am a budget traveler (and liver for that matter). I am always up for going out & looking for fun, but generally I do not do really ritzy or expensive clubs/restaurants/bars.
- I don't expect a host to personally give me an all-day tour of his or her city (I am pretty adventuresome and self-sufficient), but I enjoy sharing meals and in the very least breaking down the barriers and getting to know one another, after all, this is the best thing about the network..This sort of goes the same for people I host though if I can, i always love showing people around.
- Si estoy en un pais en cuanto que espanol es el idioma oficial, generalmente prefiero hablar en espanol.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Ever since I heard about CS I was fascinated by the inherently utopian and democratic structure of the network and community. What a unique way to bring people together! Thus far I have met some incredibly sweet, zany, and wonderful people from all over world & have made some truly special friends.

I don't have a heavy-handed philosophy about CS other than I believe you get out what you put into the thing. I think it works best when people are forthcoming and honest with one another. I know that some CS participants out there have a very hard-lined, heavy-handed, sort of -- "don't think about requesting a couch from me if you don't have X # of positive feedback reviews or have hosted X # of ppl in the past." --approach to CS. That's great and all, but I know when I CSurfed for the first time I hadn't hosted anyone. In a way I think one truly beautiful aspect of CS is the vulnerability and honesty that it asks of its participants.

Interessen

You should live your life like a work of art.

A few passions are:

photography, art, architecture & design, rock climbing, hiking, mountaineering, camping, futbol/soccer, freestyle cooking,walking long distances through cities and urban centers, hole-in-the wall food joints, hitch-hiking, hell yeah-hitchhiking again, good coffee, dive bars, films that make me forget I am watching a film, films that bring my attention to the fact that I am watching a film, reading, reading, and more reading. Also, trying to improve my salsa dancing skills (a new interest)--alguien quiere bailar?...

My father gave me the advice to dream & that if I dared to dream it is only worthwhile to dream big!
I have come to realize that we are here for the briefest of moments. I try to stay hungry and keep searching. That and reading. Can't go wrong reading books.
