CURRENT MISSION keep my mind open, be courageous, and finish my bookshelves ABOUT ME I'm curious, trusting, I have faith in the goodness of people, love engaging conversation, love learning new things, trying things out, building my own version of whatever's out there. After many years of living abroad (mostly in the US), I have moved back to my birth country, Israel, to teach and do research. I now live in Southern Tel Aviv, in a vibrant and unusual neighborhood, with mostly immigrant and refugee neighbors. PHILOSOPHY You always have a choice to do good.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING After having traveled for many years and in many countries, and met hundreds of beautiful people - would love to host other travelers in my new home in Tel Aviv. NOTE: my schedule is really dynamic and unpredictable, including lots of travel. Therefore I am more of a "last-minute couch" host, since it's hard for me to commit ahead of time. Generally, if you ask to stay more than one week in advance, it will be hard for me to respond. visited 35 states (15.5%)Create your own visited map of The World or Free android travel guide visited 29 states (58%)Create your own visited map of The United States or Like this? try: Google Share COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE Every single person I've hosted was a world in itself, and replenished my faith in humanity. Thanks to all of you wonderful guests! Never had a bad experience.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
One night, I arrived at 3am near a beach in Oaxaca, Mexico. I heard the water, but it was pitch black, so I couldn't see anything. Someone pointed me towards a hammock, and I just went to sleep, knowing I was near the ocean, but not knowing how near. When I woke up at sunrise I realized that I was under a palm tree right in front of the water, and I was overwhelmed by the beauty surrounding me - palm trees, the pacific, the mountains, the sand, the sky. Years earlier, I got very sick when I was traveling in Madurai, India, and also, my camera broke. A German woman, Katja, promised to take some photos for me of the beautiful temple that was just renovated. This was long before digital cameras. I got better, and forgot all about it. Many years later, at my parents' address, a letter arrived, and in it 7 glossy prints from way back in time and space. Thanks Katja!

My Interests
I can spend hours listening to people's life story, their passions and dreams. It's never boring to discover how many paths there are to walk. I hate small-talk, and much rather dive right into a conversation. And I can equally spend hours looking at wind blowing through a tree's leaves. I love learning, running, building, cooking, and trying something out for the first time. I'll always practice my new skills until I have it down just right, and then will run out to experiment with the next thing that catches my passion.
