Isn't it just amazing over and over when strangers turn into friends?
I love talking, cooking, eating, and entertaining, but just as much am I fond of the outdoors, be it hiking, camping, motor bike riding...
I'll read anything I can get my hands on - but only if it proves interesting. Life's too short to finish a boring book.
I'm quite extroverted, and classify myself an overtalker rather than the opposite. Getting to know people and their cultural backgrounds is one of my great interests, and how could it be achieved better than by visiting and having a good long talk?
Life is short, so use your time wisely.
Travel with your eyes, ears and mind open. Get off the beaten path.
I value education very highly. Anyone should try and learn as much as they can. It has to be fun, though. No point in getting busy in analysis if you hate math (can't you tell I do).
Things done while you're having fun are going to be more sustainable.
Respect the environment - it's the only one we have, and the ones coming after us want some, too.
If everything else fails:
Music is a doctor!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Come and couch surf my couch! At the moment, I can't travel much, but I can invite the world home
However! Please know that I can't accept anyone on my couch who is coming to study at our local university. Since I work there, it is just too awkward for me. So in this case I would appreciate it if you could look for a another host as I'm going to decline your request. Sorry about that!
Some of the greatest acquaintances I have met by chance - I can't imagine my life without striving to extend beyond my home horizons, even though I may not be able to physically leave them all the time
Motor bike riding
Sports (running, biking, swimming, hiking)
Cooking, dining, entertaining
Music - I'm a guitar and sax amateur, but I have lots of musician friends to make up for my humble attempts
- outdoor activities
- jazz music
Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a long time lover of Star Trek. For me, it's not so much about science fiction as about the vision of an open minded society that has overcome greed, poverty, sickness, prejudices, and racism.
Music: Jazz, blues, rock, world music and classical
Books: Douglas Adams, Bill Bryson, Erich Kaestner are some of my favorite writers
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Having been an exchange student is still the most amazing experience for me. My host family opened up their home, hearts and limited resources to me so I could have an incomparable source of experiences that even extends into my daily life now. Anyone should step beyond their fears and concerns and go ahead and host!
Teach, Learn, Share
I used to be a GermanFL teacher, so you can learn some of the language from me if you like. Be prepared, though: there is no such thing as a rule without an exception
