I am a 21 years old engineering student from France. I love traveling and this summer I am challenging myself by going on a 4 month hitchhiking journey across Europe and Turkey.

I am studing in Lille, France but I lived abroad with my parents half my life (from when I was 8 to 18). We lived in the netherlands and the united arab emirates but we also had the opportunity to travel quite à bit which I enjoyed a lot !

I discovered my love for backpacking while exploring hidden corners in my home country of France. I always said I'd go do the same in other countries and I guess now's the time !

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe the best way to discover a place is through the people who live there. I'm also very curious in general and I really enjoy learning new things (especially from people who are passionate about it !)

I discovered Couchsurfing when a cousin went hitchhiking across Europe last year. She gave me à glowing review so now I'm very excited to give it à try 😁

Interests

I am a pretty simple person who used to be quite introverted before I started traveling.
I like experiencing new activities, going outside, hiking, sailing but I also enjoy chill days, reading, listening to good music, chess and board games...
I also love tasting local specialities 😋

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I like a lot of stuff but I mostly listen to the songs my father made me discover, which is mostly music from the 80s/90s.

Books: à LOT of stuff, including classics (dumas, kessel), fantasy (sanderson, tolkien, paolini), police/détective (leblanc, christie) but also bds, manga and some fanfictions. And my favorite author is Jules Vernes.

Movies: I'm not the biggest movie nerd, but some just stay with you. A few of mine are Star wars, the choristes, inception, Lord of the rings, ocean's eleven, asterix mission cleopatre, hidden figures, the Shawshank redemption, the dark knight,... My favorite movie is Forest Gump.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I crossed the Channel (Is that how you say it in english ? The sea between england and france) via sailing twice, The second time we faced a storm during the night and our mast broke, even though we had shortened the sails nearly as much as we could. It was the scarriest experience of my life but also the most exhilarating.

I'd be very happy to help around the house ! I can also serve as a french practice partner but I'm afraid I don't have the qualifications to teach it 😅
