À propos de moi

Hey! I’m Sebastian, a yogi, spiritual soul, and nature lover based in the vibrant city of Cologne 🌿✨

By day, I work as a sports therapist in a psychosomatic clinic just outside the city. Movement isn’t just my job, though, it’s how I live. Whether I’m doing yoga in the park, hiking through forests, or just dancing around the kitchen while I cook(I am a horrible dancer but maybe you wanna try out some Lindy Hop with me), I believe in staying connected to the body and the moment.

Our mental and physical health are deeply connected, you can’t really care for one without the other. Think about it: if you break your leg, you’ll move less, go out less, and might start to feel isolated or down. And if you're struggling mentally, with anxiety or depression, that can make it harder to move, to be active, or even to take care of your body. One affects the other, always.

That’s why I believe in taking care of all aspects of our health, physical, mental, and social. It’s not about being “perfectly” healthy (none of us are all the time), but about staying aware, showing up for ourselves, and riding the natural ups and downs with compassion and curiosity.

I’m deeply curious about people and what makes us us, the mind, the soul, the stories behind the surface. I love deep conversations that go beyond small talk: about life, love, fear, healing, and everything in between. I don’t believe in “bad people”, only in behavior, circumstances, and the journeys we’re all on.

You’ll usually find me outside when I’m free: soaking up the sun, reading under a tree, playing some games in the park (slacline, yoga, Spikeball) or planning my next little trip. I travel as much as I can, it keeps my heart open and my perspectives wide. So when i dont travel I love to have travellers around me.

If we meet, we could do yoga together, cook something delicious (I love experimenting), share a good beer, radler or wine, or just sit and talk about what’s really going on inside. I value honesty, softness, and the courage to be real with each other.

I believe we heal by connecting, by sharing not just our plans, but our emotions, thoughts, and souls. Life’s better when we’re in it together.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I’ve been part of the Couchsurfing community for years, I hosted over 50 people and stayed with just as many. For a long time, it was my favorite way to travel and a beautiful hobby when I was home. Opening my door to strangers and being welcomed into theirs taught me more about trust, kindness, and connection than anything else.

Unfortunately, I lost access to my old account after Couchsurfing changed its payment system, and at the time I wasn’t able to host. I couldn’t recover it, but the friendships and stories I gained through the platform stayed with me. I’m still in touch with some of the people I met back then, proof of how powerful real human connection can be.

I tried other platforms like Trustroots, but I missed the richness and spontaneity of Couchsurfing. So now, a few years later, I’ve decided to return, to rediscover the joy of sharing space, stories, and moments with people from all over the world. I’m excited to see where this new chapter leads.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

When it comes to music, I’m pretty open, I enjoy everything from classic hip hop and punk rock to jazz and soulful singer-songwriters. The only thing I can’t really get into is German Schlager 😅. I’m especially drawn to music with creative, fun, or politically thoughtful lyrics, something that says more than just "listen and forget." I can end up singing loudly while showering or on the bike its a great way to let out emotions as well.

Books have always fascinated me. Thrillers hooked me first, I love diving into the minds of complex, unpredictable characters. I also enjoy psychological literature like "Maybe You Should Talk to Someone", which offers deep insights into the human condition. And of course, I’m a fan of the classics "Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings" stories that fire up the imagination and transport you completely. Reading lets you escape and reflect at the same time, which is what I love about it.

Movies? We have a bit of a complicated relationship. I’m not a full-on film buff, but I do appreciate a good movie when it really hits, especially when it’s meaningful, thought-provoking, or unusually creative. American History X, Memento, or a well-crafted series like Breaking Bad, that’s my kind of vibe. I do have Netflix, and sometimes I use it to wind down… though like many of us, I get frustrated with how addictive and time-consuming scrolling through options can be. So yeah, like everything in life... ups and downs.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I’ve bathed in a glacier lake at 4,300 meters in Kyrgyzstan… and also jumped into icy sea and lakes in Lapland at -35°C. I’ve hitchhiked over 48,000 km across more than 40 countries, from Vietnam to Malaysia and back up to Bangkok, from Georgia to Armenia, and all along the stunning coast of Turkey down to Fethiye.

But honestly? Some of the most amazing moments haven’t just been about distance or extremes. They’ve been those quiet, powerful experiences, when beauty brings tears to your eyes, when you’re overwhelmed by joy, or when a stranger’s simple act of kindness reminds you how good people can be.
Just seeking more of those as well as more of the extremes, if u wanna have a swimm in cologne winter or summer I know a pretty fun lake closeby ;) For a skinny dip or ice bath if you dare :D

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

Mi casa es su casa, if you stay with me, you’re truly welcome. I can teach you yoga (I have several mats), offer a bike you can use if it’s free, or just chill indoors with a movie if you need a rest day. My place is cozy, and if it helps you sleep better, you’re even welcome to use my bed, absolutely nothing inappropriate, just comfort and care. Anyway you will have the choice of couch or mattress anyway. But as I am off to work early in the morning, just use the bed it will be better for you.

You’ll always have access to a warm shower, a space to cook, and most importantly good company. I’d love to hear your story, your thoughts, and whatever you're carrying even if you're feeling low. If I can cheer you up or hold space for you, I will. Others have done the same for me, and I believe in paying that forward.

At the end of the day, it's all about communication, human connection, and a good, honest hug when it’s needed most.
