Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I'm currently traveling through Europe for a few days in the run up to Lowlands festival in the Netherlands. I would like to couch surf as it gives me the opportunity to meet local people and learn about their lives and experiences within the city I'm visiting. I also love hosting and think Sheffield hides a wealth of secrets I would love to share
Music, Movies, and Books
I'm into a range of music from indie rock such as Sheffield-natives the Arctic Monkeys, to mesmerising, ambient electronic artists such as Caribou and Tycho, to the captivating, stirring vocals of London Grammar. I find myself easily lost in great fiction and I like to learn something from the book I am reading. Particular favourites are social commentaries such as To Kill A Mockingbird and The Grapes of Wrath. I also adored the unique insight offered by characters in The Birds by Tarjei Vesaas and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nightime.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
The most amazing scene I have ever witnessed was the rising of the sun over the Dead Sea from the ancient ruined city of Masada in Israel. After a sleepless night of travelling and a 400m climb, breaking bread under the morning rays felt truly biblical.
What I Can Share With Hosts
I would love to get to know you and your experiences, discuss social politics, share our knowledge and values and explore music together. Equally, I am very low maintenance and can entertain myself around your busy schedule.
My Interests
I love to run, hike and climb around the Peak District national park near my home in Sheffield. I also love to host dinner parties, typically traditional hearty meals, but I love Mediterranean and Middle Eastern foods too. I am interested in local history and culture and like to explore that wherever I go.
