ABOUT ME

My name is Guðmundur Hauksson but my nickname is Mundi. My full name means "Gods hand son of a hawk" but my nickname just means "would". I´m born and raised in Keflavík. A former fishing town that got big because of the USA base but runs now mostly only around the airport.
I´ve also lived in Reyjavík, Reykhólar and Berlin. I studied a little bit philosophy and a little bit of art and I work as a nurse assistant. Recently I've been participating in a vipassana retreat center in Belgium so I spend a lot of my time observing, accepting and not reacting but I'm also up for taking a walk and having a cup of coffee.

I´m on couchsurfing to meet and to get to know people I otherwise would most likely not meet. And I´m very thankful for all the people that I have already met and gotten to know through couchsurfing. It really makes ones life richer.

兴趣

People interest me and what they do. I try to stay open minded and love to learn new things. I´m interested in most aspects of culture, but my main hobbies are literature, visual and performing arts, music, wild life, political and social issues and ideology of all sorts. I enjoy outdoor activity´s and I do a lot of hiking in the wilderness.

Stayed on a remote island in Breiðafjörður with its last living resident for a couple of nights and helped him herd his sheep's.
