About Me

** Quite sad with some of the changes of CS, I paid for my account long time ago when it was just a 1 in the life time payment so I'm keeping it active but I prefer to connect through Trustroots, BeWelcome or Warmshowers **

Hey! I'm Guille.

I am very open to meet new people and have new experiences. Learn and know new things is the most important thing in life, and that's what gives me more happiness.
I consider myself an energetic and cheerful person, always trying to give a smile to others.

I'm not looking for free acommodation, I have my tent and I'm happy to camp in remote places surrounded by nature or in parks in the middle of a city. When I host I like to share with my guests some time and get to know eachother, so now I look for the same when surfing, if I send you a request is because I feel like we have something to share together.

I started my journey in New Zealand 6 years ago, riding my bicycle across the country, camping in the beautiful nature there and working a little bit to save some money, after I spent almost a year in Australia also working and traveling around, then I went to Indonesia and China backpacking, and I bought a bicycle again in South Korea and I did all by bicycle around SE Asia.
I was in Cambodia when Corona started and I had to come home waiting for everything to reopen.
Now I'm back in the road, I flew to Spain, and making my way through Europe, looking foward to meet my tribe here and explore the beautiful nature.

New Zealand and the people I met there taught me a lot about life and how I want to live, I want to continue growing up in that way and share my experiences and happiness with everyone.

My dream is to live in a environmental friendly community, grow our own food and reduce our footprint the most possible. That's why I love to share time with people with the same mindset to get more ideas, and try to preserve this beautiful world we live in.
I'm always looking for volunteering in farms and places with this way of doing things.
I had some experiences in communities like this and I loved it, I had the best feelings living in this way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For the same reason as yours. Open my mind meeting people from all over the world who always have something to teach us. Feeling more and more a citizen of the world, not just an Uruguayan.
More than the landscape or emblematic places I enjoy knowing the place through his people and CS helps a lot.

Interests

Music is one of my principal interests.
I'm a percussionist, I love playing the Djembe. It's feels amazing to see the people dancing while playing and connected through music.
I love dancing, so I'm always up for something involving dancing and music in general, live performances.

I really enjoy spending time outside, the ocean, mountains, lakes, hikings, etc. I love chasing the sunsets, finding a good place to see it, is the best time of my day, same as sunrises.
Also I have a big interest in yoga, I like to practice and keep learning new types and movements.

I live on plant-based diet which I feel is the best for the environment, the animals and myself.
So I'm always up for learning and share cooking tips

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled alone by bicycle around New Zealand, 3000km of pure beauty, meeting amazing people on the way who helped me in many ways, camping in the most beautiful and peaceful beaches and mountains. It was my way to reconnect with the nature and myself, and a starting point for many bicycle tours around the world.
More than 7000km in SE Asia by bicycle, being able to stop in every little town in the countryside, doing some volunteer work to get deeper in the culture.

Stopped drinking alcohol and smoking tobacco 5 years ago.
