About Me

Ni Hao! I’m Wawa from China. I was born into a traditional East Asian family. I have benefited from its positive aspects, such as being taught to be humble and polite. However, I have also been affected by its negative sides, like having my personality suppressed and being given a narrow definition of life's success.

By a chance, after traveling abroad for the first time of my life, my world was opened up. I found my true self, figured out what I really wanted, and understood what truly makes me happy.

I'm not the kind of traveler who likes to check in at scenic spots. I truly believe the best way to connect with a place is through its people—hearing stories, sharing culture, exchanging opinions of everything.

I am originally an introverted person, but through traveling around the world and interacting with more and more people, I become more outgoing and enthusiastic. At the same time, I still maintain my consistent qualities of modesty, politeness and tidiness.

I have tried many different jobs, such as a newspaper editor, a staff member in an advertising studio, an office clerk in a big company, and so on. Now I am a freelancer, mainly writing for the video - game industry.

SUMMER VACATION FREE PROJECT!
【available on July and August only】

If you’re planning a trip to Zhejiang in July and August, and looking for a cozy stay with a touch of cultural exchange, keep reading! My partners and I run a homestay in Qiandao Lake Town—a famous tourist city about 2.5 hours’ drive from downtown Hangzhou.

Nestled by the stunning Qiandao Lake, our homestay is far from the hustle of the city but brimming with local charm. Here, you’ll wake up to the sound of lapping water and fresh lake air, and get to chat with locals or us—we’re always happy to share every hidden gem in this pretty place.

Location & Surroundings

Qiandao Lake itself is the star—you can take a boat tour to explore its 1,078 islands, hike trails with lake views, or try fresh fish at waterfront eateries just a short walk from the homestay. For those who want to venture out, the town center has small markets and cafes, all easy to reach by taxi or bus.

Accommodation

We provide high-end standard rooms worth 90 USD per night, with 2 to 3 people per room.

A Little Offer

If you’re willing to help with simple English services during your stay—like chatting with local kids who are learning English, or helping us explain homestay facilities to foreign guests for 14 hours a week (flexible time, mostly in the afternoon)—we’d be happy to offer:

• Free accommodation if you stay for 7-14 days;

• Free accommodation plus one daily meal if you stay for more than 14 days.

We’d love to have you here—not just as a guest, but as someone who shares a bit of connection with this place. Feel free to reach out!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite movie is Cinema Paradiso.

As for animations, I love SpongeBob SquarePants the most.

There are quite a few books that I adore. The Karlsson-on-the-Roof trilogy brought me so much joy during my childhood, and I still remember it vividly even now.

My favorite music genres are R&B, funk, and jazz. I also listen to a lot of pop music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Summoned up all the courage to come out to my family.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Chinese (Mandarin) in English if you are interested.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd love to sit down and chat about all sorts of interesting things.

I can cook a simple dish from my country if you’d like to try it, or teach you a few fun phrases in my native language.

I’m happy to help with small chores like washing dishes after meals, or taking out the trash—whatever makes your life a little easier during my stay.
