ABOUT ME

I'm Henriette, a 29 year old girl. I was born in 's-Gravenzande, a city on the west coast of The Netherlands.
Since 10 years I've been living in Utrecht. I first studied drama therapy, and after that I graduated in Occupational Health Psychology. I'm very interested in people and the way they communicate, interact, etc. I'm pretty sociable myself.. I love cooking, dancing, yoga, reading, wine or beer on a terrace on a summer night, movies, music and chocolate.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that I am (we are) on earth to learn certain lessons. How to love and be loved; how to recognize right from wrong; how to do good. I think that by meeting people from other countries/cultures, one's vision of the world and it's people, gets wider. That will help to stimulate acceptation, which I think we really need in this time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hosted a few people (so everyone: Come to Utrecht!!!) but I was a visitor in New York and Philadelphia, and I loved it. I feel so lucky that I can meet people this way; people I probably wouldn't have met if I wasn't couch surfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I once had a friend of my Canadian friend in my house for a week. I didn't know him yet, but my friend told me he was coming to The Netherlands so I hosted him.
Because of the trips I made, I've met a lot of people from all over the world. Most of the time when I'm going somewhere, I can stay at someone's I know. But I would also like to experience to stay somewhere I don't know anyone, and have people stay over at my place so I can show them around.

Interests

I love to make music, write my own songs and sing them while I play the piano or guitar. I love: traveling, reading, photograpy, movies, going out, being with friends, cooking, sports, the sun, the full moon, Italian/Thai food, riding on my bike through Utrecht in the sun, swimming in the lake, drinking coffee on a sunday afternoon on a terrace, wearing new/ fresh washed clothes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

El Valle de la Luna in the north of Chile is absolutely amazing! I was so impressed by its beauty. Easter Island. Ruins in Guatemala or beaches in Belize. Lakes in West Canada. Jamaica (all of it) and Cuba.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can cook pretty good. Vegaterian dishes mainly, or fish. That's something I would love to share: my creations of food. i might even play you a song.
