Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To get a new hat.
To finish one or both of the books I'm writing.
ABOUT ME
I'm shorter than average and have a very loud laugh.
I live by the sea and spend my time looking moody in cafes drinking black coffee.
I love meeting new people and going to new places whether that's here in Brighton or far far away.
I laugh too loudly and too often.
I have hair, eyes, a mouth and a nose and I like whistling (well), singing (ear-piercingly), dancing (excellently) and chatting (too much).
PHILOSOPHY
If at first you don't succeed, don't bother.
Only kidding.
Try as hard as you can in everything you do and things will end up alright in the end. Hopefully.
Things improve.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Surfed all over Europe and would really like to start hosting too now I have my own place.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Surfed all over Europe over the last 10 or so years and would really like to start hosting too!
Interests
Cliched but just about anything will interest me! If you have a story, I want to hear it, if you have a random fact, I'd like to hear that too.
Whether it's Heroditus or Cyprus, Sassanids, Swedes or St Francis of Assissi, I find history fascinating so when I ask endless questions about where you live and what you know about it try not to get too annoyed. If it gets boring just changed the subject, my butterfly mind will flit away quickly.
I follow rugby and cricket and am a supporter of Wasps Rugby Club (unfortunately they ran out of money and no longer exist, I know the feeling.) I've played rugby since I was about 14, not always well but always with enjoyment. Update: I stopped playing rugby after yet another broken rib and now go climbing instead.
I'm not particularly competitive but I love a board game even if I'm not very good.
Obviously I like traveling or I wouldn't be typing at this keyboard, on this website, now/when I made this account when I was 18.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Couchsurfing!
I've met so many lovely people that I couldn't name them all individually but it's given me so many great experiences and treasured memories.
Teach, Learn, Share
My English isn't too bad and I've worked as an English teacher in the past so I'm happy to help you practice (I've found myself used as a letter-writer by one couchsurfing host in particular!)
I can teach you my own freestyle bachata-ballroom-breakdance fusion dance moves - they have to be seen to be believed.
I like to think of myself as open-minded and ready to learn anything that others are willing to teach me. I really would like to improve my rather dismal French which I'm hoping I passed my exam in! *Update: I did pass my exam - 10 years ago now, time flies. I've forgotten everything..
