I am a researcher in sustainable tourism field. I like to travel and meet with local people. I like basic things. I really enjoy from sitting under a tree or laying down on the grass. All I need to feel happy is a nice view without long buildings.

When I travel solely, I'm only using this application for my research studies as you all can see from the pictures. I have done one academic research in south-east part of Turkey. And I worked in Erdek as volunteer for a sustainable tourism project to develop local communities. After that, I went to Catalonia, Barcelona, to make another research about tourism's effect on Catalan culture. I have some videos on youtube about the results. And, recently, I worked as volunteer at dreams academy, kaş, Antalya, in turkey. There I spend two weeks with disabled people. And it was the most beautiful experience in my whole life. Also I make interviews with 40 people in there to write my thesis.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I only use couch surf for my academic researches. To meet with local people or to stay at their place because they know the critical places and key person to help my researches. Also, I like to ask them questions about their culture or their personal things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've completed a research during terrorist attacks in the southeast part of Turkey. I have been working on terror and tourism for one mounth before going there. And suddenly I tought that I should make face to face interviews rather than makind phone calls. Then, I arranged my staying in one night and I packaged my stuff to drive to the airway. I was really terrified because of the news on TV until I met with my host when I had arrived there. But it was still a little bit terrifying because he was calling his friend to learn the safe ways each time we attend to get out from the house. There, I stayed at local Kurdish people's home for one-week. They guide me during my research in Adıyaman and they have taken me to their village, to Diyarbakır, to Şanlıurfa and also we climbed to the Nemrut Mountain to gether. I have experienced quite well their culture, politics and foods.
