Hello, I’m Hillary!

My Journey

I’m an educational activist and proud first-generation university graduate with a degree in International Business and Tourism. Growing up in a low-income family taught me determination and humility, and I took my first flight at 17 – a trip that sparked my lifelong passion for travel.

Life has thrown many challenges my way, but I’ve always stayed resilient and seen every obstacle as a chance to learn and grow. I believe strongly in the power of community and education. My volunteer work has led me to earn multiple scholarships for conferences in Peru and abroad, experiences that have broadened my horizons and taught me so much.

Education & Volunteering

I studied International Business and Tourism because I love learning about different cultures and ways to improve communities. Volunteering with @Perucano (an NGO in Peru that trains professionals in soft and hard skills) is one of my favorite parts of life. It feels great to give back and help others grow.

Passions & Goals

I’m very passionate about the UN Sustainable Development Goals – especially those focused on quality education, peace, and justice. I truly believe education can transform lives and build a more just world. Being the first in my family to go to college keeps me hungry to learn more and keep growing professionally.

Languages & Hobbies
• Languages: Spanish (native), English (fluent); some Portuguese and German.
• Hobbies: Exploring coffee shops, libraries, and museums around town; relaxing with Netflix (no horror movies for me!).

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I host and meet CS.
When I host, it's the world approaching me.

I want to know more about different cultures. I think couchsurfing is the best way to exprience local stories and make friends during trips! Through couchsurfers, I can see more of the world than that I have seen only with my eyes.

I want to share the city and the life I live with friends(no matter old or new friends). The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose; helping others will make me happy and benefit myself as well.
