I am a teacher, a mother of two grown boys, an animal lover, a yogi, an adventurous soul. I value the mystery, beauty and community of my life. Traveling and meeting new people, connecting to nature always adds value. I am a seeker of finding the little treasures in the moment. I strive to plant seeds of kindness and grace along the path I lead.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In my twenties I traveled abroad in Europe with a similar organization called SERVAS. It was wonderful to stay with people and experience culture in an authentic and personal setting. When I returned home to the USA I became a SERVAS host and found it to be an wonderful experience. This was many years ago with another lifetime in between. I’m venturing into a new and different realm of my life - post divorce, post pandemic and with an empty nest. The World is my oyster and I’m excited to find the pearls. I have recently relocated from the Olympic Peninsula to the Skagit Valkey - Whatcom County area to start a fresh as the morning and with wisdom like the sea, old yet always flowing. I’m enrolled in in a program to get a MA in Special Education which will provide me with more work opportunities beyond the regular Ed classroom. In the meantime I am applying to school districts as a substitute teacher, looking for permanent housing and community. A friend suggested I look into couch surfing as a way to meet locals while getting settled. So here I am, eager to connect and share.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I drove from Seattle to New Orleans in August of 2021 to see my son off to college. He flew on a plane and I drove a car without air conditioning. It was a sweat lodge on wheels.

I am a certified Elementary School Teacher, I love teaching kids about the art of learning and expression. I have love for learning and appreciate the stories other have to share.
