About Me

CURRENT MISSION

^-^ Welcome to my profile <3! Mission: To Host and Surf. FEMALE SURFERS ONLY - SEND COUCH REQUEST (NOT MESSAGE) THANKS ^-^ <3

ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Holly, ^^ What's up?!

You don't have to read my whole profile and send me a request saying "ooooh! I like the same book as you... can I stay with you?" etc. like they say you should: You can if you want to but I'm not that fussed either way.

All you need to do is read the couch description and ask politely and you can get to know me face to face instead but if you do want to know more about me, here goes:

I'm a student at Portsmouth university and a resident of Portsmouth, studying German Studies and I would love to travel to Germany in my holidays! I work as a babysitter, tutor and waitress. I love children and my ambition is to become a primary teacher.

I live in a flat in Portsmouth. I like to hang out and do fun stuff, who doesn't?

I like playing Mariokart and I challenge you to a 32 race tournament.

I like rollerblading sometimes but I'm really crap at it and I fall over like a fool.

I am an animal lover - and that includes eating them
(veggie surfers welcome but be warned, there will be meat)
I love eating espesically spicy food and takeaway pizza, if you're nice you might get a peice.

I enjoy learning german, It's the only foreign language i can speak and i try to practice it as often as i can but lots of germans speak such good english i just get embarassed and let the conversation go on in english instead, If you Germans have the patience it'd be great to talk in german with me to help me improve.

Portsmouth is an nice city especially in the summer! Please get in contact if you'd like to visit portsmouth for a couple of nights and need a couch.

And just one thing quickly which I shouldn't really have to say but just in case anyone has the wrong idea, couchsurfing is NOT a dating site. If you want to use it as one, noone can stop you but please dont contact me, I am already spoken for. Thanks ^^
;)

PHILOSOPHY

I've seen people on here say that just writing open-minded says nothing about you because everyone says it, so just for you, I'll expand a little upon it.

I'm open-minded because I don't confine my thoughts to some doctrine, i don't comdemn people beacause of appearence/race/religion/politics/sexuality etc. And I am a very liberal person.

Life is about having a good time. And if all goes tits-up, red wine solves most problems.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Interested in visiting Portsmouth? I can show you the pubs of portsmouth or hang out in my flat if I'm free.

This city is great in the summer. Many people just travel through on their way in or out of England without stopping but Portsmouth is a city worth seeing especially if you like history.

I have reccently been couch surfing in Germany in my easter break this year. Mainly in Cologne and the nearby cities and also in Hamburg and a few other places.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had a few lovely couchsurfers surf my couch in the time I've been on this site.

I have also been couch surfing in Germany in various different cities and will continue my travels in the future

Interests

Learning german. Exploring the internet. Watching movies. Shopping. I love to spend time with old friends and meet new ones, love going to the pub, love a drink in good company, in summer i love going to the beach.

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything good, Always depends on mood. Same with books but i don't read books that often because I'm a bit lazy.

I like rock/pop/punk/metal/classical/folk whatever, so long as it makes your brain feel good when you hear it.
I listen to 'Die Aertzte' to help me learn German and because they are amasing. And a few other german bands
Die Aertzte, Die Toten Hosen, Wise Guys, Kraftklub.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling alone with a rucksack around northwest germany for 3 weeks through couchsurfing.

Standing on a mountain in the Alps in france and being able to see for miles and miles and miles.

The seaside town of salcombe in my home country England is so full of childhood memories for me. Most pretty english town I've been too.

Those are the travel memories that come to mind but many other hometown/portsmouth memories come to mind as well:

Getting "fresh air" with my sis on the top of the hill overlooking my hometown.

Drinks on the beach with my sister

Drinks on the beach with my housemates

House parties at my flat in Pompey with my mates from uni

Many fond memories.

Teach, Learn, Share

i cooks sometimes but only if i feel like it and not amasingly.

I can show you some lovely pubs in Pompey.

I can help you with English if you like, although the fact that you're reading this shows you're already pretty damn good :P I study German so any help/opperunity to practice is appreciated!
