About Me

travel around the world, bike across Japan, hike Mt. Fuji

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was luckily able to host a few surfers last year while in my dorm, and I really enjoyed the experience! As for surfing, I had an amazing time traveling across Japan by myself for a month, surfing with hosts in around 6 different cities! I had amazing hosts every time and really enjoyed the experiences I had!!

Ever since I was a kid, I knew I wanted to travel. When choosing college majors, I settled on international business because I thought it would let me travel the most, and a major factor in choosing colleges was their study abroad programs. I find other countries wondrous and filled with new, amazing places, and rather than a desire to travel, I am filled with a desire to experience and become a part of the countless cultures in new, foreign countries. Two of my dreams are to bike across Japan and backpack through Europe. I hope to be able to gain these experiences and learn more about how to do them as I travel more while staying with and learning from fellow couchsurfers, and then I will be able to teach it to future fellow travelers.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite genre is romance, and I also like Victorian England, so I read a lot of classic romance books like Jane Austin and the Bronte sisters.

For music, I like a lot of different stuff but my favorite genres are indie, classic rock, electronic, and instrumental.

My favorite movies are:
Shawshank Redemption, Midnight in Paris, Donnie Darko, Gattaca, Moonrise Kingdom, Lost in Translation, Before Sunrise, and 5 Centimeters per Second.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I circumnavigated the world winter 2012/13 with my girlfriend when I flew from New York City to London, then to Singapore, then to Hong Kong, then to Bangkok, then to San Francisco, and finally back to New York City. I spent about three days in each city and had an amazing time! I would like to spend more time in all of these places and also visit more countries I haven't been to yet.

I also studied abroad in Japan summer 2013, and was able to travel across the country by myself for a month as well while couchsurfing!! I had an amazing time and cannot wait to go back to my favorite country of Japan.
