About Me
Hey, my name is Ilias. I was born and raised in Morocco, then moved to France for my studies. I started my career as a software engineer in Lille, and after that, I took a break to travel across Asia, discovering different cultures, ways of life, and perspectives.
Today, I’m based in Antibes, where I’ve been living for the past three years. I really enjoy life on the French Riviera — snorkeling, stand‑up paddleboarding, swimming, and spending time by the sea are a big part of what makes me feel at home here.
Travel has a special place in my life. I’m not just interested in famous landmarks or touristy experiences, but in real local life — taking chances, going off the beaten path, and experiencing places in a more authentic way.
I’m a down‑to‑earth person, curious about almost anything, and I genuinely enjoy good conversations. I love meeting new people, listening to their stories, learning from their experiences, and finding common ground to build strong and meaningful friendships.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to see the world and connect with people! I love having authentic experiences when I visit new places. What better way than meeting/staying with locals? I want to offer that same opportunity to others!
