Overview
About Me
I'm a Romanian girl living her best life in Manchester, studying sociology (going into my final year).
I've always hated describing myself, but in a few words I am friendly, curious, creative and diverse. I have few things that I don't enjoy doing and I don't do very well with established routines (I prefer the liberty to create and change my schedule as I feel like it). I'm good with not talking, having food/a drink, going out to party - whatever it is you enjoy, there's a big chance I do too. I love talking about anything and learning about different opinions and views, whether it's about literature, media, politics or cats. Also, I appreciate any suggestion of activity/food and I love trying new things.
I love reading, I write in my free time (and for my coursework) and I hope to build a career around writing, but I'm still a bit clueless about my future. Jigsaw puzzles relax me, it's one of the few things I can spend days on without feeling bored or like I'm wasting time. I also enjoy to paint and doodle occasionally and some amateur photography.
As much as I love walking around, visiting museums and reading a book in a cafe, I love dancing, going out, meeting people. I'm all over the place, but in a nice and non-disruptive way. Like a nice puppy.
Fun fact: I am a certified make up artist, so we can talk about that too and I can get you all glammed up if you wish. If not, do what you want with this info.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For the same reason why I have chosen to study sociology, I love people and their cultures, understanding the differences and similarities of this world.
Growing up, I traveled with my parents a lot, and we always stayed in hotels. Now that I am traveling on my own, I want to have a more hands-on experience of the places that I am visiting. I am a very curious and talkative person, so let this be a warning that I will ask a lot of questions (unless you tell me not to).

Music, Movies, and Books
Currently reading a philosophy book by Bertrand Russel. In my (clearly) biased opinion, Romanian literature is highly underrated, mostly because of the weird language and country and the lack of translations. If you get the chance to read something or learn about it, I highly say you do it, you won't regret it.
Favourites: Essays in love (de Botton), 1984 (Orwell), any poetry by Eminescu, The Last Night of Love, The First Night of War (Petrescu), Enigma Otiliei (Calinescu) and many more
I enjoy all types of music, depending on my mood. I love traditional music of all countries, I jam to rock when I need motivation, I clean my house while listening to disco and I shower with mainstream pop music when I need a morning pick me up; I don't discriminate.
A movie that really stuck with me through the years is Pulp Fiction, not because it is the best I've seen/the best from Tarantino, but because it was the first complex movie I saw when I was a kid and it blew my mind. I enjoy any genre and I get scared at every jump scare in any movie (every single one).
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can teach you about sociology, Romania and Eastern Europe and puzzle-making techniques. I've recently gotten into latin dancing (mostly salsa and bachata), so I can show you some basic steps. I can also teach you how to do your makeup and do it for you.
