About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To Learn and Express in as many ways as I can, to be helpful, have fun and discuss

ABOUT ME

I'm a pittsburgh transplant, working as a preschool teacher and loving it. Not what I saw myself doing 5 years ago, but I'm glad I am. I like lists, so here are some words that describe me: compassionate, competitive, a good listener, enthusiastic, queer, fun loving, try new things, in my head, angry black woman, fun having, feminist, dog lover, vegetarian, cook, language learner, creative, reader, femme, singing, adaptable.

I love to play boardgames, knit, garden, read, listen to music, and COOK!
Recent goals of mine has been to take a pottery class, and take time to travel .

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live. Be aware of your body in space and time. Listen.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My couch is available. I offer it to you, and sometimes enjoy using a couch when i travel.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The first time I used couchsurfing was in the summer of 2011, when I was driving with my partner Dan cross country to Denver. I was hesitant at first, but the genuine kindness that I received was enormous. I'm willing to give thanks via couch for the good times I had staying with people. I've hosted many people since being in Pittsburgh, and I love hearing a visitors perspective on the city.

Music, Movies, and Books

love reading bell hooks and Kurt Vonnegut. Some of my favorite books are On Chisel Beach and Cat's Cradle. I'm open to all different types of music, I enjoy Bob Dylan, Corinne Bailey Rae, Esperanza Spalding, Beyonce, Wale, Clean Bandit, Tegan and Sarah,
Screen Time: Gone With The Wind, the L word, Adventure Time, Orange is the New Black

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing the moonrise in the Atacama Desert of Chile. Between the hills a moon rises slowly. A GIANT moon. That was closer than any other. Between the fog it's full and rising. The desert was still a pretty solitary place though, even with the moon.

Hitchhiking around Northern Chile and Argentina.

Teach, Learn, Share

willing to share knowledge and opinions about gender and sexuality and sociology and feminist critiques of things, leftist stuff, and music and time! Looking to learn more about other economy systems, more radical anarchy, how to care for chickens, and learn more about gardening and art.

Countries I’ve Visited

Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain, Turkey, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
