About Me

As a host:
+ I'm okay with last-minute and same day request.
+ Please do not send me requests more than 2 weeks before your arrival date as I do not plan for the long term.
+ I do not accept requests longer than 3 days unless there is an unusual situation.

Hi everyone! I’m İpek Ezgi 🌻 I use she/they pronouns. I'm vegan, and I’m really into exploring the world. I’m a communication design student in Istanbul. I really enjoy spending time in the kitchen and cooking for friends. I would definitely describe myself as an easy-going, calm, social, friendly and cheerful person. We can talk about lots of things and learning new things make me excited.

I care about my own personal boundaries, so I also care about respecting other people's boundaries 🌬🫂

I can say that I am new to hiking but I really love being in nature and especially in the mountains. Uni, work, city life and social life can sometimes (usually) be very tiring. When I continue living at this pace for a long time, I can feel the need to get away and be in nature. I usually go hiking alone and this helps me to strengthen my connection with myself and the world, to push my physical limits to a certain point but respect my body and its limits, to remember to enjoy the process instead of focusing on getting somewhere.

I do not believe that this whole world, the universe and the living beings we share it with were created for us, but I believe we are a tiny little part of this magnificent and inconceivable system. And I think this thought makes me a more sensitive and respectful person.

🌊 Being surround water makes me feel good, especially the sea. I like swimming, rowing and scuba diving 🏊‍♀️🤿🚣

Oh and I love dancing. It makes me feel free.

I don't know what will happen after I die but I know I have a life in this world, I’m alive now and I will die in a point. Even if we live "long", there is time to care about other people's opinions and live our lives according to their truths.

And if I could choose, I would love to be one of the colours that make up the sunset after I die. The only thing in this world that I never get tired of looking at and that I get excited about every time is sunrise and sunset. Especially the sunset 🌄🌅🌆🌇🌠🌌

Sometimes it's not easy to keep "about me" part updated because I'm changing

"Imagine all the people living life in place 🌈"

CURRENT MISSION

Taking a 1 semester break from my university and going on a 4-8 month trip to South Asia
(I studied and worked in Germany (in autowash that obviously not my dream job) to make this happen and bought myself a one-way ticket to Thailand for January ✌️)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a summary, I love to be on the way. It teaches me a lot and it's easy to say that I'm begging of my way. Our planet is small part of this huge universe and we are almost nothing even in this world. But when I travel, meet people, learn about different life experience, touch people's life... felt like I'm more than nothing.

In our world, like I said which is both very big and very small, many people live together and we all have different experiences, values and views on life. I find this interesting and I love the time I get to share with people who randomly cross my life. I have learned a lot from the people/travelers I have met while traveling and hosted during their travels. Sometimes it was really inspiring and encouraged me to pursue my passions and I find such experiences really valuable. And since I have experienced both sides, as a guest and as a host, I believe (like many users) that I can empathize and I enjoy hosting people whenever I can and when I travel to different cities I enjoy being a guest of the people who live there.

I believe that it's important to be kind and If I have a chance to help people or make their experience better WHY NOT?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Together with a friend of mine, we travelled by hitchhiking in the east of Turkey in the middle of winter. Everyone said it was stupid to go, but we hitchhiked in terror zone while our breath was freezing in our scarves at -20°C and I had the most unforgettable days of my life.
