Hi there!
My name is Irene, I am from Crete and I am a primary school teacher in Athens.
I love traveling, meeting people and having nice conversations over drinks, food and music.
I am a "nature-freak", I prefer outdoor activities, I am into hiking mountains, camping, going to the beaches, forests, etc but I also enjoy exploring big cities.
Hoping to make new friends, learn about different cultures and share our knowledge and experiences.

I am on Couchsurfing because travelling is like breathing for me and it changed the way I perceive the world and how I travel.
Six years ago, I travelled to Mauritius and had an amazing experience because of the people I met there (that was just the beginning)... I saw and learnt so many things that I wouldn’t have the chance to see if I travelled as a tourist and had a superficial experience. I want to meet with the locals and learn a different way of thinking and living and I want to immerse myself in the culture (as much as possible). I believe you can never really know a place if you don't connect with the people.
Also, the people in CS helped me in difficult situations while travelling and I am thankful to them.
