Hi there, my name is Iryna.

I was born in Belarus, raised in Italy, and now I live in China :)

I majored in languages (English and Italian) and literature. Volunteered in Italy for two years, worked in IT and then quit to go teach English in China.

I am an ordinary person, but I always try to find interesting and beautiful things around me. I believe that life should be lived in balance and nothing should consume us too much. I am curious, and I like meeting new people and seeing new places. I find joy in little things that surround me - a stranger’s smile, a cup of coffee, a pretty cloud in the sky. But at the same time I am really into dark humor and sarcasm (though my intentions are always good).

🎵These days I listen to 80's music, but every decade and genre have something to offer. My all time favorites are: The Rolling Stones and David Bowie.

🎥I don’t have favorite movies or books. There’re so many which I really enjoyed that listing them here would be impossible. Let’s say I have a weak spot for old Hollywood movies, Star Wars original trilogy, and Marvel universe (and also for some tv shows). Movies that broke my heart (in a good way): Dead Poets Society, Good Will Hunting, Into the Wild, An Affair to Remember, Midnight in Paris.

📖I am fond of literature (being an English major, philology department), and lately I am more interested in non-fiction books on physiology.
A couple of fiction favorites: Conrad (Heart of Darkness), Maugham (The Moon and Sixpence), Cervantes (Don Quixote), The Pit (or Yama) by Kuprin, The Quiet American (Greene).

I can teach Russian, English, Italian (I hope I haven’t forgotten it yet). I want to learn to play the ukulele. I am easily interested in anything so whatever you can share with me - I will be very grateful.
