Hi everyone,

My name is Iris, and I’m from Beijing, China. I lived in London from my mid-20s to mid-30s. In 2024, I moved to Qatar with my husband and son, and I’m excited to begin a new journey in the Middle East. Inshallah.

When I lived in the UK, I traveled extensively across Europe and the Mediterranean as a solo traveler. I truly enjoyed staying with my Couchsurfing hosts and deeply appreciated all the help and kindness they shared with me along the way. I also love meeting new people while traveling. All those wonderful connections made my trips so unique and unforgettable. To give something back, I started hosting female solo travellers when I lived in central London, as a way to encourage them to explore the city.

Since my son was born, my life has changed a lot. I would still love to host travelers again in the future, but for now I’m more available to meet up or offer local advice.

2. Kamchatka 2018: Hiking in beautiful volcanoes, hot spring and then jump into a freezing lake, lovely local people
3. Dubai 2019: Tandem jump
4. Camino de Santiago 2023 - Vigo to Santiago (101km)
5. Israel, Palestine and Jordan 2023 - Solo trip (then I was pregnant straight after I was back)
6. UK-China 2024: flew with my 2.5 months old son back to China on my own
