Overview
About Me
I study anthropology and sociology, ride my bike, watch movies, and do social work. I am from Perth, but have also lived in Canada and the UK and have been fortunate to see many parts of the world. I love meeting new places and new people!
I’m planning to travel to Japan Dec 2023 - If you have any recommendations, get in touch :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Connecting with other human beings is powerful, I appreciate the outside perspective. I'm fascinated with sharing economies and really into the community I've encountered so far on couchsurfing.
I've surfed/hosted/carpooled/hitched rides/ given rides/house sat around Europe, South America, Canada and the USA.
Interests
As I meet and talk with more people, I'm discovering so many cool things about how we choose to live and design our lives.
For enjoyment I write, shoot video, take photos, watch both good and terrible movies, cook and bake, collect things (most recently mugs, and photos of my hometown that you can see here www.instagram.com/borewaterstainsofperth) and bike 🚲 .
Equal parts homebody and nomad, I'm just as happy staying in and napping with a cat on my lap, as I am being outdoors in all the elements.
I enjoy surrounding myself with thoughtful and interesting people.

Music, Movies, and Books
Always down to swap films, books, music!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
All contenders for #1 amazing thing, no particular order:
Dropped everything to tour national parks across the US with fellow couch surfer and friend Julian!
Travelled to Patagonia and hitchhiked to Bolivia with my oldest friend Helen!
Worked and played in Vancouver BC!
Dreamed up and operated a breakfast taco food truck in my home town!
Teach, Learn, Share
Conversation, food and animals are three areas that I feel apply here.
I love talking with and listening to people. My current role in youth and disability support means I get to do this everyday - figuring out how to connect and communicate with others. I've been learning how to sign, so could teach you some Auslan.
My family has a history of autoimmune disease so I try to cook with that in mind (which has made me a better cook!) - I could make you a nutrient dense and flavourful meal!
Also if you have any pets, I'm cool with being their bff while I'm in town.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my experience of opening and managing a small business (I ran a breakfast taco food truck in Perth for a couple years, and freelance in video and post production), stories from the road, insight into growing up in West Australian suburbia, my experience writing and filming video content - I love to to work while traveling. If you're working on a project during my stay/your visit I'd love to assist on your production!
