I'm from England originally but moved to New Zealand in 2012.

Much like the people of my adopted country, I'm into sports, hiking, surfing etc. so i'm out and about most weekends. And evenings! we don't really work in the evenings in New Zealand.

I live in a townhouse in Johnsonville that is a 17 minute train ride to the city or 20 minute drive.

Wellington is a fantastic city but housing and accommodation is limited. We live on a small peninsula with no where to build houses (have you noticed the precariously perched houses on the side of a cliff?! This is one of them).

I've been a traveller myself all those years ago and I know how hard it is rocking up in a city with no idea what to do, where to go or where to stay.

I have a 10 year old son but he visits twice a week so im happy to have people stay the other days when it suits (ideally max 2nights)
So rather than letting the spare room sit empty, I'm keen to share the space to those that need it and can be respecting of it.
