About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To take every opportunity.

ABOUT ME

I love to listen to and play music, though I wish I had skills with more instruments. I've recently been teaching myself how to play the banjo, and my next foolish mission is to learn how to play the accordion I really enjoy reading just about anything, and I hope to always be learning something.

I love being in the outdoors, especially in the spring and fall. I like to garden and grow things. I love thunderstorms and warm evenings.

PHILOSOPHY

"Here's a test to find whether your mission on earth is finished: If you're alive, it isn't."

"The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other's life. Rarely do members of one family grow up under the same roof."

"Don't be dismayed at good-byes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends"
-Richard Bach "Illusions"

Kind of a cop-out to quote from a book as personal philosophy, but too many others can put into words what I cannot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Still one of the most stunning sights in my life was watching a humpback whale swim under the boat I was on. Some years earlier I heard whalesong while swimming.

I've hiked for years, having been to Philmont, NM twice and completed 70 mile treks both times.
I've steadily been moving up the east coast of the US, from Tennessee to Pennsylvania to Vermont, but this might be as far north as I head...

Last summer I spent an amazing 2 months romping around Europe. Most of my time was spent in Ireland, but I jumped from Spain to France to Germany, to Switzerland to Belgium. All of it was unbelievable, and I hope to get over there again as soon as I can.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to draw (my school notebooks are evidence) and I'll share what I can of that. I play a few different instruments but am always on the lookout to learn more.
I like to cook and create, and I'll gladly share what I can.
I'm a good source of small facts, but they only come out when properly prompted.

I'm currently teaching myself how to play the banjo and the accordion, and trying to teach myself german. Slowly.
