Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to have a more authentic relationship to travel, instead of a shallow, touristic one. I also recognize that we can't all be renting airbnbs and hostels, and I want to play my part in removing those costs for travelers by hosting when I can. I have met some really amazing and inspiring people while couchsurfing, who have asked for nothing in return for their hospitality. I wish to follow their example and defy the logic of a consumer society.
