About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel and enjoy culture while on work trips in Latin America

ABOUT ME

I was born in Toronto and by the age of 18 I knew that I wanted to explore the world. I finished high school a semester early to study and travel in France and Italy. From there I gained my love for travelling and learning about people's cultures. I have also lived and studied in Mexico, have worked in Guatemala and Costa Rica and have travelled through Asia, the Caribbean, Cuba, Central America and Israel. When I finished my masters degree, I backpacked through South America, and had such a good time. I met tons of couchsurfers along the way for drinks or to stay at their places, and it really enhanced my trip. It is easy to stay on the "gringo path", but through couchsurfing, I was able to meet locals and learn more.

I now work for an organization that allows me the opportunity to travel. I hope to continue using couchsurfing to meet friends while travelling for the short free time that I have!

PHILOSOPHY

Live life to the fullest and be happy!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couchsurfed through my trip in South America and had an awesome time!

Interests

I am passionate about langauges, dancing and new experiences. I love the adventure of backpacking and having no clue what to expect, what I will learn and who I will meet. I used to be a competitive dancer and did some professonal jobs, so I love to go out to clubs. I love to cook, eat and try new foods. My specialty is sushi!!!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love documentaries and foreign films.

I love almost all types of music, my favourite types are salsa, house and alternative.

Books - I am very into books based on real events and am an advocate reader of news.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I wanted to visit an orphanage in Cambodia and donate food. I ended up getting lost and was taken to a place run by nuns who have dedicated their lifes to helping children with HIV/AIDS, children with mental disabilities whos parents have abandoned them, and elders whos families have abadoned them. It was one of the most amazing projects I have ever seen. It broke my heart seeing such happy children who have lost everything and do not have a lot of time themselves!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach people how to make sushi and other dishes. I have studied Spanish, French and Italian and have taught English as a Second Language. I have also travelled a lot and can give travelling tips. I could also teach dancing oh and if anyone is interested in Politics and International Relations .....

Countries I’ve Visited
