Cheers World! I'm a chilled, easygoing 31 year old Lad from Germany, where I did my banking traineeship and finished my bachelor and Master degree in business administration and finance. Currently working in a Fintech in Berlin in Business Development. Always looking forward to meet lots of great people, discover new countries, cities, food and so on, just let it flow and see where I will go. If you have recommendations, can host or simply wanna hang out... drop me a message and we will figure it out for sure! My first big trip started in Singapore at a friends place in September 2015, went to Cairns (Australia) and travelled down the whole eastcoast down to Sydney and from Sydney over Melbourne and the Great Ocean Road and back to SYD. From SYD i flow to Hanoi in Vietnam and traveled down the coast to HCMC and from there over Cambodia to Thailand. After Thailand i went to Georgetown/Penang (Malaysia) and down the Coast over the Cameron Highlands and so on to Kuala Lumpur. Actually it just takes a 4 month Semester last year, before I'd been on the road again. First I made my way from Berlin up to some friends in Hamburg for an australian re-union plus celebrating my bday. Then i took a bus and the ferry up to copenhagen, went to Malmรถ, Gothenburg and up the way to Oslo. Flow down to Stockholm and a further flight to Helsinki. Then took a ferry to Tallinn, Busses to Riga, Vilnius, Warsaw and Krakow to Auschwitz. After that I continued to Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna, Munich, Frankfurt, Mainz and up to Berlin again! Thanks to a all the great people who made this Trip unforgettable! Thanks for the Partys and all the other stuff! You Rock ๐ป! That was an amazing 2015/2016! It was 2017, so time for the next adventure to get started. Went from Berlin to Freiburg and stayed at my aunt's place and continued to Zurich, Lucerne and Geneva after. Went to Milan to climb on top of the famous cathedral, further to my fav City Florence and to Rome for the Colosseum, trip to Vatican and so on. Head down to Naples, Amalfi, Vesuvo and Pompeii, continued to Bari after to reach my overnightferry to Albania, visited Durres, Tirana and Shkodra, went up to Budva in Montenegro and further to Dubrovnik. Alright! It was already 2018 so it was time for a new trip and I considered the UK. Before heading there I went up once again to Copenhagen to meet some friends. Flown up to Dublin, Ireland to meet colleagues from school. Made my way up with a ridesharing to Belfast and then further with the smallest plane I've ever been in approx. 35min flight to Glasgow to meet a mate I know from my last trip in Geneva. After staying there a couple of days, a heavy snowstorm started and our Loch Ness tour was cancelled. Trains didn't run also, so they cancelled it and luckily there was a bus running to Edinburgh. Snowstorm got harder and many people in St Christopher's inn Hostel stranded in Edinburgh, cuz all flights been cancelled. 2 days later I was supposed to fly aswell to Manchester, I checked the stats on the internet and my plane was shown as "running". I took the shuttle to the airport, checked in my luggage, passed the airport control and waited for my flight. Suddenly I got a text message, that my flight was also cancelled. So I went back to the hostel to my new made friends and got one of the last beds for the night. So it was Friday night and the train website showed, that there was only one train running on the next day at 8am. So we had a party until 3am, Followed by sleeping only 4 hours and went to the train station - train cancelled. Saturday evening I wanted to meet friends in Liverpool for the match against Newcastle and I was still sticking in Edinburgh with fuckin heavy snowfall. No planes, No trains, no busses, no ridesharing... luckily there was a papermate shop closed by so I went in to buy a wedding marker and get a carton. Last and only time in my life I was hitchhiking was in Australia and with friends, but I didn't see any other choice and I wanted to meet the friends in Liverpool and I needed to catch my flight from Manchester the day after back to Berlin, which I had already booked. I asked in a ridesharing UK group on fb where gonna be the best place to find a car to hitchhike and someone replied that I should take bus 26 to a gas station - so did i. Went there, which was closed to a gas station, got a coffee and stayed in the storm. Not even 5min later a landrover with a dad and his son stopped and told me I can come with them to Preston. Talking about soccer for about 3 hours, big shout out to Billy and Andy for helping me out. Directly catched the next train from Preston to Liverpool and arrived 45min before the game starts! Life went well! :) That was my big trip in 2018, followed by a lot fewdays trips to Zurich, Barcelona, Prague, Oslo again and so on. After that I started my internship in Oct '18 at a start up and finished it end of January '19. Before heading back as a working student to the bank, I just booked a flight down to Madrid 6 days before heading there and decided to check out Porto and Lisbon aswell followed by meeting my friends and family near Frankfurt. After all the countries I traveled before, Portugal is definitely in my Top5 in Europe now, so I plan to return in summer to get some surfing lessons. To say it with DJ Khaleds first words in his songs, "another one" was ready to be settled so I booked my flights down to Thessaloniki in Greece just 4 weeks after I came back from Spain and Portugal right before the new semester starts... and it was lit ๐ปโ Another adventure was ahead, the Netherlands!๐ณ๐ฑ๐ค Utrecht - Rotterdam - Delft - Den Haag - Amsterdam - Groningen - Dรผsseldorf and back to Big B! Then i flew from Frankfurt to Saigon and arrived on the 8th of feb 2020. Can Tho, Mekong, Da Nang, Hoi An, Da Lat and HCMC again and then off to Cambodia starting in Phnom Penh and Laos after. Thanks to all the great people I met in the hostels and loooooots of at hangout! I hope we will meet up again and stay in contact! That trip was just fuckin lit! Why I'm on Couchsurfing
Well I think it's an awesome idea to get in contact with locals and share a great time together. Maybe getting secret tips and a very different perspective of the city and the habitants than just being a tourist in a hotel.
