关于我

Hi,
my name is Janis. 5 years ago I moved to Hamburg. Above all to get out of the noplaceville Wiesbaden, where I spent my youth. In the second place to start my studies in Philosophy and Psychology. Now I'm sitting there, day-dreaming most time of past journeys and future travel plans. But every once in a while I brace up myself to do some sports, go partying or even travelling for real.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I created this profile a few years ago, when I was hitchhiking to Morocco. And for some reason had a kind of emergency. (In fact a guy stole my backpack which I left out of sight for just one second.) I never used it agian for few years. Until I was journey through Israel and Jordan, which was a good reason to reactivate it. And without any doubt one of the best decisons I made so far, thanks to many amazing people I've met. Finally I experienced that I would always prefer to stay with locals to a quiet hotel room...

Probably the whole world...

音乐、电影和书籍

Which kind of music I like to listen to really depends on the situation. I have an open mind about this. On the one hand I enjoy philosophizing about the "unconscious, subversive impact of chart music", on the other hand I listen to avant-garde free jazz improvisations.
When it comes to movies, I go for underground cinema, especially by film-makers from Scandinavia. Or the Balkans. Or France. Or Spain. Or Korea. Or somewhere else. But my favorite book is indubitably "Les Chants de Maldoror", a 19th century French Novel.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Once upon a time I travelled through Kyrgyzstan with an idea growing in my mind: I wanted to buy a yak and go hiking in the no-man's-land, close to the chinese border. It took me a few days to find a yak owner, and a few more to talk him round sell one to me. Unfortunately I had to learn the following lesson: Domesticated animals have to be domesticated for your special purpose! Even if these animals seem to be as peaceful as cows when they walk around, they will get as wild as a raging bull, when you try to catch them. And may almost kill a by-standing farmer...
Long story short, I got my hiking experience, side-by-side to a large animal, but instead of a yak it had to be a donkey. I have heard in Mongolia they use yaks for riding. There I will have another try.
