This is a joint profile for my boyfriend James (British) and I (Canadian). We met in Nevada, USA while doing an environmental internship in 2011. From there we lived in China for a year teaching English to bright little minds, then spent an incredible few months backpacking through Asia!!! Since then we've returned to Canada and work for a forestry consulting firm but still dream of more traveling!

Though I am a vegetarian, James eats most things and recently acquired a taste for tofu (thanks to China).

We'd like to consider ourselves open-minded, friendly, adventurous, easygoing and we love to try new foods!!!!! We love to travel, hike and explore nature.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We couchsurfed while travelling through Asia and have a bit in CANADA but would like to surf much much more!! Through surfing we've met some incredible people and are now able to host surfers in our apartment in Hearst (Northern Ontario). We love to meet people from around the world and show them around our little town here. So far we have hosted surfers from France and from all over Quebec!

James is interested in the recent Game of Thrones TV series, as well as having read the book series, and other similar fantasy/fiction novels such as the Wheel of Time series and LOTR. Adventure and survival books: Bill Bryson's books, On the Trail of Genghis Khan, Alone on the Ice.

Climbing to the summit of Mount Tallac, Lake Tahoe, California. The view of the rugged mountain peaks, brilliant alpine fields and crystal-clear lakes was breath-taking.

Catching a glimpse of a manatee, a giant underwater elephant, peacefully chewing on a piece of reed in Everglades National Park, Florida.

Spotting a majestic bald eagle while hiking in Yellowstone National Park. - we now see them all the time in Hearst, even by our apartment.

Seeing a Pygmy Rattlesnake and Water moccasin in Florida up close(2 cool snakes).

Climbing to the top of a mountain near the Tibetan border, finding a Tibetan prayer stupor on top..

Having both done Environmental degrees, and being very interested in wildlife from an early age, we both love to share knowledge on our passion for wildlife (birds especially) and are always up for a discussion about environmental issues, vegetarianism, nature, science or anything else that comes up.
