Overview
About Me
I'm a straightforward, normal, curious, gay, open minded man trying to be nice to others and live the life as best as I can.
I have one flaw you should know about: I have a tendency to think the best about people until they prove otherwise .. but am not naive though.
Previously worked many yrs in the oil and gas industry and a few yrs in renewables (installing windmills offshore). Retired spring 2025 and now I can travel more :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am not different than others in here: I'm couchsurfing and travelling because I want to see and learn more about our globe and its inhabitants, to share / experience / learn about the different cultures along the way either by hosting or by being a guest, to be exposed to your culture, learn more about your lives, and not at least learn and see how locals live :)
Relatively new to the cs, but am fascinated about this way to travel and explore.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- Ride the last section of the Trans-Siberian Railway, from Vladivostok to Nakhodka, Russia (2006)
- Celebrating New Years Eve at Copacabana Beach, Rio de Janeiro (2009)
- Whale safari in a sea kayak in Newfoundland, Canada (2013)
- White shark diving (me in a cage) in South Africa (2017)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good conversations, friendly smile, a welcoming home, and a good bed to sleep in.
