About Me

Hi there, I’m Jazz (they/them), nice to meet you!

I am 27 years old, currently living in Québec, Canada. I am a queer, disabled and neurodivegent artist. I used to be involved in community-based work (soup kitchen and thrift shop). I’m currently taking time to realign myself before going back to school in the fall to study social work. I’m deeply committed to community care, mutual aid, and joyful resistance. I dream of changing the world one small action at a time.

I’m very chill, easygoing, open-minded, and I make connections easily. My friends and family describe me as a sunny person! I’m very positive without being into toxic positivity. I enjoy small and deep talks. I’m scared of heights and birds (they’re so unpredictable aaaaaaah!). I love plants, animals, the arts, coffee and sunsets in beautiful scenery.
I like to help around the house: I can cook, clean and take care of the animals.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing to meet new people and experience the lifestyle without always staying in the tourist areas. I like hostel vibes and life as much as the next solo traveller, but sometimes I love the quieter side of Couchsurfing.
It’s a good way to connect with locals and also get the absolute best recommendations.

Also, I wanna meet your pets! :3

I value the gift of being hosted, and I do my best to give back by sharing stories, cooking a meal, or simply bringing kindness and respect into your home.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to basically everything. Each year, on my Spotify wrap, I get 300+ genres listened. I’m really into Quebecer media (movies, series, music, books). I love to attend outdoor concerts, go to the theatre or any artistic events. Culture takes a big place in my life.

My favorite musical artists include: Clay and Friends, Jay Scott, Little Stranger, Sublime, Calamine, Mon Rovîa, Hey Rosetta!, Videoclub, L’Entourloop, Milky Chance, Black Hill, Hubert Lenoir, 100 gecs, Skatune Network and Kenya Grace.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most meaningful adventure I’ve lived so far is the love story I share with my partner (yes, I’m a hopeless romantic!). Life hasn’t been easy. I’ve had my share of struggles, and we met while I was on a healing journey, rebuilding myself after psychosis. She entered my life like a blooming flower, a quiet blessing. We crossed paths at protests, activist events, and community spaces, always orbiting around the same values. It only made sense that we’d eventually find each other.

Today, we live together: happy, grounded, and sharing life with her sweet cat.

Teach, Learn, Share

As a former cook, I can teach you a lot in the kitchen: recipes, techniques and how to create wonderful meals with whatever you already have in your pantry. I love to be creative in the kitchen.
I’m also way too much into drinks (tea, coffee, mocktail, cocktail, fermented soda, and everything you can imagine).

Adding to my foodie experience, I also do urban foraging. I love to add fresh herbs or flowers to my drinks and food. I’m not an expert, but I follow basic safety guidelines (for human consumption and for eco-friendly foraging).

I’m bilingual. It will be a pleasure to teach you how to swear in French or anything you’d like to learn.

My current obsessions are food and drinks, but to be honest, I know a lot about a lot of things. I’m very curious, and my hyperfixations tend to move a lot. I’m always happy to learn new things and to share my knowledge.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’d love to share simple, meaningful moments, like walking to your favourite spot, enjoying a coffee or tea at your go-to café, cooking a meal together, or helping out with chores (I actually enjoy doing the dishes!).

I’m open to many kinds of connections, as long as things are communicated with respect. I’m also quite independent and appreciate having some quiet time now and then, so no pressure to entertain me!
