About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to have fun and enjoy the company of new and old friends alike

ABOUT ME

I...
-am a California girl, born and raised, with an affinity for city life (but I don't mind the great outdoors either).
-am a jeans and t-shirt kinda gal, most at home in my broken in jeans and hi-top chucks.
-have a strong preference toward fizzy water and much prefer beer to wine
-have traveled all over the US, Europe and Central America and don't see myself ditching the travel bug anytime soon
-have lived in San Francisco for the last year. If you've been, we can talk alll about it
-eventually want to be a designer of some sort, not sure what kind of design or how i'll get there yet
-come from a family where 4/5 of us are left-handed
-will probably laugh at all of your jokes, a self-esteem boost for you at the very least
-love live music, urban exploring, design, and travel!

and last of all, I can't wait to explore a new part of the world and meet new people, whether it is staying on your sofa or meeting for a drink!

PHILOSOPHY

take things as they come, enjoy the company of everyone i'm around, and have more fun than the day before

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm willing to meet for a drink in NYC (I live in Brooklyn), but can't host at the moment. I'll be looking for places to surf when I go to Sweden, Denmark and Germany in May!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed with Ralph and Claire in New Zealand. As a result, I've had an onslaught of New Zealanders stay with me in Brooklyn - and some of their Swedish friends too. I can't believe CS has introduced me to friends around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: current favorites include Yo La Tengo, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, Grizzly Bear, Caribou, Twin Shadow and more. There's always a new band in Brooklyn to see.

Books: The Grapes of Wrath, Lonesome Dove, To Kill a Mockingbird, design books that I keep buying but rarely read cover to cover

Movies: Amelie, The Lives of Others, The Usual Suspects, Objectified, Helvetica

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most incredible experiences I had abroad was when one of my professors in Prague took us up to the clerestory balcony of the St. Vitus Cathedral after dark (he actually had a key to the castle!) and walked us around the cathedral after hours, only guided by the few lights outside. It was a rare and amazing experience.

But each place brings new experiences... from my friend Sarah getting dumped out of our raft on the Rio Pacuare in Costa Rica to eating the best falafel of my life in Paris to the baths in Budapest... I can't give traveling up.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Spain, United Kingdom
