About Me
Important: Please say something interesting about yourself when sending a request to stay, there must be something, give it a try!!! Please avoid generic bullshit such as "I want to meet new cultures", "cook for you" etc... I get a lot of this, and it is not inspiring at all.
I am an engineer in working time, and in free time I enjoy hiking, socializing, music bars, psychology and literature. As one old friend said about me: Poet with a scientific background :)
I love having someone around me sometimes. However I also love having some time alone. So I host only 1 person per week max. This is how I like it. I am not a hotel and sometimes it is pain in the ass to clean everything behind a guest (flat gets dirty faster), so I choose to host this often (or this rare, however you like it).
If there is chemistry between us, I will let you know about it, and then stay longer if you wish. If no chemistry, 1-2 nights are usually enough (in 80% of cases) for us to satisfy curiosity without bothering each other and having awkward silence moments. Noone should take it personally, but chemistry happens rarely and it can never be forced. I have a perfect antenna for people being fake, so don't bother trying that, you will just suddenly see that I start talking less when I spot it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing makes my life less ordinary. Breaks me away from my everyday routine and seeing the same people all the time. Yeah, not all experiences are magical here, but I will remember for life some of the people I met this way and best times I spent with them, without any limits and constrains, this never happened with someone from my street.
I even fell in love few times in these 13 years or at least spent some wild times that you should do while you still can, because everything will dissapear, everything will be gone, even this crazy head of mine, so let;s take the best out of life while we can. I am definitely not a monk preparing for the future life.
Interests
I like discovering something new every weekend. Feel free to join me. On Fridays after work I like starting my weekend with Greek food and Greek Mythos beer with Greek music in the background. I am a hardworking person but this is how I let myself go once per week :)
I choose to go to the punk and heavy metal place to recharge my batteries and clean out my head from all the boring shit that happened during the working week. I just love meeting foreigners, girls and new people in general in that atmosphere. Makes my life refreshed every time :D

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
From being almost a dropout from college, I bounced back so strong that I got my PhD in the end :D
Teach, Learn, Share
I have enough money to have more than decent life, but I am a strong critic of mainstream culture and music that is glorifying need to have millions and private jet to be happy. I feel that this mass media movement became too strong and it makes many today's youngsters unhappy and unfullfilled striving only for material values. The influence of today's mainstream media and especially mainstream music is more damaging than any plague or famine. Yes, we will not die, but we will be surrounded with people with garbage in their heads, which is even worse punishment. Call me a hater, I don't care, I know what I am talking about.
There is another extreme: I cannot find easily on this website a person who is not one of these 3: buddhist, photographer, vegan. Guys, please, I remember this website having more diversity. One more thing, let's not be those who dream about private jets, but also let's not be freeloaders who stay for free all around the world (renting a flat is not cheap and please do not take this for granted), there are too many people here trying to spend nothing if possible. I've seen too many guest recently who have a strong disbalance between hosting and being a guest.
Please get a steady job and try traveling to less destinations, instead of living like a mouse pretending to have exciting life, actually not having for a cigarette and later bragging about seeing 30+ countries in 1 year. I see these people as travel addicts, no different than any other drug addict. Do not get surprised if I reject you. I want this world to be a better place, and I feel that parasites are never good for the world health.
