I graduated with a BA and MA in Education from the state of Washington. I am bilingual in Vietnamese and English. Having been a resident of Guam for over 22 years I understands the culture and specific needs of the teachers and students in Micronesia, Palau, and the Federated States of Micronesia.

The Prophet , a book of 26 prose poetry essays written in English by the Lebanese artist, philosopher and writer Kahlil Gibran.

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance: An Inquiry into Values (ZAMM), a work of philosophical fiction by Robert Pirsig,

Dune and other novels by Frank Herbert.

The Qatsi trilogy is the informal name given to a series of three films produced by Godfrey Reggio and scored by Philip Glass:
Koyaanisqatsi: Life out of balance(1982)
Powaqqatsi: Life in Transformation(1988)
Naqoyqatsi: Life as War(2002)

The titles of all three films are words from the Hopi language, in which the word qatsi means "life."

Rashomon directed by Akira Kurosawa - This film is known for a plot device which involves various characters providing alternative, self-serving and contradictory versions of the same incident.
