My very first memory was from the age of two when my family moved from Walla Walla to Kettle Falls, Washington. We were driving an old Honda hatchback on the highway, sitting in the back on the passenger side, I decided to open the door (restrictive car seats were a torment not yet invented, and seat belts were a thing to be laughed at). Looking down I saw the divided yellow lines flash by one after another with such speed that I, almost mesmerized, thought it'd be fun to reach down and try to grab one; my sister pulled me back in before I fell out.
Ever since then, I still tend to reach for things I find intriguing regardless of the personal consequences.
