About Me
Hey all! I'm an avid traveller who's just joined the unemployment line to kick start a tumultuous journey of solo backpacking! I've previously tried teaching English in South Korea in an attempt to travel and also make a living, but found I was feeling too settled and unhappy with it. Despite that, I definitely want to be able to experience the local life (just for shorter time lengths than on a working visa) and would love to make new friends along the way!
Although I am very new to couchsurfing, from the few people I've met so far I've come to discover how invaluable the experience is. I've met wonderful people with amazing hospitality, and it's made travelling solo much more fun and exciting sharing it with like minded people!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To try out something new and different, to experience travel life that's not all about touring, to make new friends
Interests
As a travel project, I am currently maintaining a blog (jessicamelanie.net). It's relatively behind on my travel, but it's giving me muh enjoyment being able to create stored memories to share with others.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
volunteered in Chiang Mai, Thailand at an Elephant nature park for a week, rode a semi-automatic motorbike through Vietnam's Ha Giang Loop over 4 days (and I'm a terrible rider)
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach me some of your language and I'd love to teach you some English (and Aussie slang!)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd be happy to help out with cleaning, and if you have pets or children would gladly play babysitter too!
Countries I’ve Visited
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Cambodia, Croatia, Fiji, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Viet Nam
Countries I’ve Lived In
