I'm an academic who usually travels for conferences. NOTE: My place probably shouldn't be your top choice if you'll have a car. Overnight parking is really tricky where I am and parking during the day isn't free. I can usually get something figured if you're looking to stay for just a day or two, but anything more than that would be tough

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I've been hosted once, which was great, and I hope to continue traveling via couch as well as pay it forward by hosting. I'm a fan of couchsurfing because I really like the idea of actually meeting people when I travel. Hotels are great in that they're private, but they're also isolating. I'd rather spend my time with other human beings
