Decided not to downsize when the young'uns left but justify the spare rooms by having lodgers.

most people are really lovely, you would be unlucky to come across the duff ones, and even those often arent as bad as you feared.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I tell the young people what a great plan it is, and how my experiences of trusting strangers have brought great joy to my life. Teach them how to trust new people, in small ways first.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

before 'couchsurfing' there was always couchsurfing.
friend, family, friends of family, families of friends... and random other people.
best couch surf so far was a minibus of young people, offered hospitality by a great guy in Brough. He overheard my inquiry at the post office, and stepped up.
he had a big house, and the camp site was flooded, so 12 kids and 3 staff couch surfed at his house. what a star. he lit the woodburner to keep us warm, and called back at 10 to refill it so it would stay in all night. What a lesson in the kindness of strangers.

and the guy in spain who asked if I needed any food, when i asked him where I could get eggs he drove off, got some, and refused any payment. another star.

And in Turkey,Antalya, the Nice people at the airport who let me couchsurf there when the taxi didnt come.

and the many , many friends who have offered floor space, Thankyou all. X

my new hens laying eggs, its a miracle, you chuck in rubblish and they lay eggs!

Young people are great. as long as you know that they do some stuff on the way to being more grown up. You know the stuff, you probably did it yourself, so dont be surprised.

Dark chocolate is for grown-ups. sort the box out before the kids get to it.
