Chi sono
After college I went to Taiwan to work as a full time English teacher. I always wanted to live and work abroad and it gave me a chance to improve my Chinese. In August I'll return home to the States to begin law school.
People often describe me as shy, but that's not entirely accurate. I'm normally quiet, yes, but in the right atmosphere I'm very social and sometimes even the life of the party. If I feel comfortable I'll let my inner goofball out. If not, I'll focus on being polite.
I think that playing games is a good way to break the ice and get people to interact - no matter if they're board games, video games, or drinking games!
Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing
So far I've mostly traveled alone. Either my friends couldn't or weren't interested in traveling with me to the places I wanted to go. While traveling alone is nice for many reasons, it can get lonely at times. Sharing experiences with others is lots of fun and can be a great change of pace from solo travel.
I just recently signed up for couchsurfing so sorry I don't have references yet!

Musica, film e libri
Books: Perdido Street Station, Uprooted, 1984, the Harry Potter series
Movies: Ghost in the Shell, Inglourious Basterds, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Hot Fuzz. I know I'm forgetting a ton. I love the art of film making, so I'm down to watch anything you find particularly interesting.
Music: Wake Up - Arcade Fire, You Grew Up - Oddisee, Jack Johnson. In general I like alternative rock, rap/hip-hop, EDM, and classical.
Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto
I once wrote a short story that my English teacher liked so much that she used it in her classes. My classmates weren't too happy with me but I was proud.
Insegna, impara, condividi
I can teach a simple four-player card game that's very fun to play - it involves counting cards and secret codes.
I can teach you how to make 'buffalo chicken dip' - an American party snack.
I like to be creative, so if you want to collaborate on something or want feedback on a project, I'm happy to do it.
(Warning: this is extremely nerdy)
I sometimes play Dungeons and Dragons with my friends - I even ran a couple games for my students. If you heard rumors about the game or want to know how to play, I can talk about it.
